Point to Point, the set is powered from within HDMI. The IR commands are relayed over HDMI's CEC (Consumer Electronic Control) channel. The user can select either CEC + IR or just IR, by the tiny switch in each injector.

Uses the HDMI CEC channel.
20-60KHz wide IR Bandwidth.
Receiver range — up to 6 metres.
Works with most AV devices and PayTV receivers.
Powered by HDMI, no power supply required.
Includes a sensitive IR receiver, 2 x HDMI CECIR Inserters and 1 x IR transmitter.
