Hello everyone, welcome to 2021, we have fingers crossed for a better year than last year, but I, myself think it will be more of the same. Which has been good for some and terrible for others. Whats new?
How 2020 affected businesses
Some were lucky and had jobs or businesses that were needed, like us, and they have done ok, even if shortage of stock made it a bit tricky. Then we had the travel, entertainment and food industries. These poor guys got hit right in the ……. Many had to put off staff, and almost shut their doors, then they were allowed to open but with virtually no customers, then they had to shut, then open, then masks…. I could go on and on.
Shopping local
The other small benefit is Locally made and sold, many people have embraced the idea that we should support local business, local manufacturing etc. this is great and we all will benefit in the long run. Then there are the OTHERS, the ones that just order everything online and don’t care where it comes from as long as it’s cheap. Then of course there are the ones in the middle, who try local, or local online, then if they can’t get it, they go online. It takes all types, but let’s hope the first type is growing in numbers.
Technology 2021
NVIDIA
So back onto technology. What is new this year. Well we have the RTX3000 series graphics cards from NVIDIA, no they are not a myth, there are some out there. We have been able to get a few for our custom builds, but due to the limited supply we haven’t been able to get cards by themselves.
From our tests these cards are absolutely awesome, performance is great as long as you build the right components around them. Remember. there is a difference between a gaming computer and a computer that plays games…
Not a lot else has changed much, CPU’s are still AMD or Intel, both similar, one a little better in some areas and the other makes up in others. AMD is slightly cheaper, but we use mainly Intel as the majority of our customers are businesses and the Intel has been a more reliable option. But we aren’t racist, we will build either if asked.
So, let’s keep our fingers crossed for 2021, stay safe, and remember if you need anything Tech, we are the place to come.
